Product

Motornostix® provides an online, web-based condition monitoring service for production critical equipment. Our condition monitoring service is designed to pre-empt machine failure. If conditions for an existing or impending malfunction are identified, systems provide for notification to designated client personnel.

The systems are non-intrusive and can be used either in fixed industrial situations or on mobile equipment such overhead cranes. Motornostix® systems can be installed either at the time of initial machine commissioning or later, as a retrofit.

Motornostix® Sensors are attached externally to machine components to monitor vibration, temperature, electrical flux, motor speed and electrical current.

Sensors attached to machinery connect to an intelligent data-acquisition device – the Motornostix® Canary®, positioned at each motor. This uploads measured data to a computer (the Motornostix® Scanner). The scanner wraps the data from all local Canary units and uploads it via the Internet to a centralized Motornostix® Database.

At the database, incoming data is filtered by an alarm processor to check for level breach events. Diagnostic software tools are provided for technical analysis; these can be accessed by authorized users from anywhere in the world using a web browser.

SENSORS

Motornostix® Sensors typically provide data as follows:

1 at the machinery non-drive end 2 axes of vibration and temperature
2 at the machinery drive end 2 axes of vibration and temperature
3 at the motor drive end 2 axes of vibration and temperature
4 motor speed tachometer
5 motor stray flux
6 motor non-drive end 2 axes of vibration and temperature
7 motor current up to three phases

Using the Internet, authorized users of Motornostix® systems can access historical and current information on their condition-monitored equipment.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTUREBack to the top

A Motornostix® Canary® (the data-acquisition unit) is attached to each piece of monitored machinery.
  • The Canary units are connected by wire or wireless link to a scanner located at the plant.

  • The scanner interrogates each Canary, typically every few minutes, and uploads the measured data.

  • Intermittent process measurement capable

  • The scanner wraps the data and dispatches it via the Internet to the Motornostix® database, where it is securely warehoused.

  • As incoming measurement data is received, it is filtered through an alarm processor to check for variations in measured values.

  • If the variations exceed user defined breach levels an alert raised.

  • Plant personnel can be alerted via SMS or e-mail.

  • Web connectivity gives immediate, continuous access to all plant data.

  • Graphs/Alarms/Reports and other decision-support information for each piece of monitored machinery can be accessed by authorized users online via the web. Rights to access the diagnostic data can be given to managers, consultants, manufacturers and other relevant personnel.

  • Motornostix® provides customer support on a 24 x 7 basis.

  • Motornostix® takes responsibility for the installation and maintenance of the whole system (including the database) and provides backup for system hardware and software.
